Raising the Roof. Classrooms for Local Youths!
Aim: As an NGO we are targeting schools that have insufficient or no interior class space for local students! We believe learning should be available to all rain or shine! (YouTube Video Links Below!) >>>>>
Our Mission: Lanka Skateaid is a registered NGO focusing on bringing better infrastructure to the schools in poor rural communities. And at the same time offering free skateboarding classes and equipment to offer a new sport activity with Olympics potential!
We have established this Crowdfunding campaign to specifically help a local school in Namunakula, UVA Province in a very rural location where the primary activity is agricultural employment at the tea plantations.
This school in Namunakula has 130 students but they have insufficient interior space and furniture to allow for daily lessons. As a result the school schedule is every other day rotating the students in groups of 65 kids. Even with this approach students are still forced to use exterior space for class lessons. The climate is mild in Sri Lanka but as of October until mid March torrential rainy season begins creating some huge obstacles in organising sufficient class time for the children.
Therefore we are looking for support to "Raise the Roof"! And build permanent classrooms with cement bricks that have already been donated but require foundation, beams, roof and electric installations!

School and Skate Mini Bus! Daily School Transport for Local Youths! Aim: As an NGO we are targeting schools that have insufficient or no interior transportation options for local students! We believe learning should be available to all by whatever means of transport is needed! (See YouTube Video Link Below!)  Our Mission: Lanka Skateaid is a registered NGO focusing on increasing attendance at the schools in poor rural communities. And at the same time offering free skateboarding classes and equipment to offer a new sport activity with Olympics potential!
